The Art of Glass
We will enable you to discover the craftsmanship that made Perugia, in past ages, one of the most powerful city-states of the peninsula.
From the Middle Ages, a time in which the citizen / craftsman, the homo faber, redeemed his position of prestige within the social, cultural, political and economic reality of the cities, through manual work, to the Renaissance, an era in which Perugia established itself as one of the capitals of Italian art thanks to the creative work of the craftsmen and artists, we will discover the artistic production of glass to decorate churches and palaces that made Perugia renown all over Italy.
After having admired the beautiful stained glass window of the church of San Dominico, second in Italy in size only to that of the cathedral of Milan, we will move on to visit the Moretti Caselli glass laboratory, where the heirs who still carry on the ancient tradition of painting on glass, will guide us in their workshop and give us a demo of the stained glass production.
